Comprehensive brain and spinal cord care for children

Our pediatric doctors are specialty-trained and prepared to treat the most complex disorders that can affect a child's brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves.

What we treat

We offer testing and treatment for:

  • Brachial plexus injuries and other peripheral nerve injuries
  • Brain, skull base, spinal cord, peripheral nerve and pituitary tumors
  • Cerebral palsy and dystonia (spasmodic) and treatment of spasticity
  • Chiari malformations and syringomyelia
  • Craniosynostosis and craniofacial disorders (in conjunction with the Craniofacial Center)
  • Epilepsy surgery (including resections, hemispherectomy, callosotomy vagal nerve stimulators)
  • Head, spine and peripheral nerve trauma
  • Hydrocephalus and intracranial cysts
  • Molding helmet therapy for positional plagiocephaly (in consultation with Orthotics)
  • Neurosurgical endoscopy
  • Shaken Baby Syndrome
  • Spina bifida and other congenital brain and spinal disorders (in conjunction with the Spina Bifida Clinic)
  • Spinal cord tethering

We also offer prenatal counseling for fetal brain and spinal anomalies.

We take a team approach to each child's care. Our pediatric neurosurgeons and physicians work together with clinical specialty nurses and other health care professionals to offer comprehensive testing and treatment, using the most advanced techniques and tools available.
