Health Insurance Accepted

We accept a variety of health insurance plans and will submit claims on your behalf. Certain coverage restrictions may apply based on your individual benefit package. Please check with your health insurance carrier to see if Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is part of your insurance plan network. If you receive services from a provider who is in your insurance plan network, you may receive the highest level of benefits. If you receive services from a provider who is not in your insurance plan network, the insurance plan may require out of network authorizations and pay at a lower level of benefits.

If you do not have insurance coverage or are in need of assistance with balances remaining after insurance processing, our financial counselors can assist in determining whether you qualify for a special program, payment plan, or charity.

Understand your coverage

Before your appointment, please review your insurance benefits or contact your insurance provider to determine what your policy will cover and identify any out-of-pocket expenses.

While our customer service representatives are always happy to help you better understand your coverage, we’ve put together a few resources and reminders to guide you: 

  • Health insurance glossary - see a list of common insurance terms to ensure that you understand exactly what your insurance covers.
  • Experimental procedures - some of our cutting-edge treatments are considered experimental by health insurance companies and because of this are not covered. We’ll work with you to identify any procedure that might be considered experimental, so you can speak with your health insurance company before beginning those procedures.

If your plan isn’t accepted

We never turn patients away for lack of insurance. We work with you to determine if you qualify for financial assistance or other payment plans.
