Is your child struggling with attention or behavior issues? Penn State Psychiatry offers an eight-week group counseling program for you and your child who have issues with paying attention, following the rules, temper outbursts or getting along with others.

Registration is required.

Who is the counseling program for?

Children ages 5 to 12 with attention or behavior issues and their parents may benefit from the program. Problems may include:

  • Paying attention
  • Following the rules
  • Temper outbursts
  • Getting along with others

This group session is not appropriate for everyone. Children would not benefit from this program if they:

  • Have high levels of physical aggression
  • Are a serious threat to themselves or others
  • Have an autism spectrum disorders
  • Have low cognitive abilities

Wednesday afternoons and evenings (eight-week sessions) offered throughout the year.

Standard co-pay charges may apply for parents; separate fees apply for optional children's sessions ($20 per session).
