Kristen Glass, MD, is the program director for the neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship and medical director for neonatal extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) at Penn State Children’s Hospital. Her primary interest and research pursuits focus on educational curriculum design and simulation program creation. Her passion is graduate medical education and creating a stimulating learning environment for residents and fellows. She created and runs  quarterly neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) interdisciplinary ECMO simulations and recently developed an institutional introductory Neonatal ECMO course for fellows, advanced practice providers, and faculty. Dr. Glass’ quality improvement interest focuses on improving the safety of neonatal intubation, and she is the site principal investigator for the multicenter NEAR4NEOS collaborative. She is a member of the Simulation Advisory Council and is active in national and international simulation societies, including the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, International Pediatric Simulation Society, and International Network for Simulation-based Pediatric Innovation, Research, and Education. Dr. Glass has developed several simulation programs, including procedural simulations and is active in facilitating NICU mock codes.
