Penn State Children’s Hospital Pediatric Trauma and Injury Prevention program is only Level I pediatric trauma center serving the 10-county area of south central Pennsylvania. It has been accredited by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation since 1993, and as a Level I pediatric trauma center since 2008.
Being a Level I-accredited trauma center means we’re recognized as being experts in managing children’s serious, sudden injuries. This ranges from broken bones to life-threatening injuries. Our pediatric specialists are available 24 hours a day to offer immediate treatment to injured children of all ages.
The Pediatric Trauma and Injury Prevention program includes pediatric surgeons, doctors, nurses and other health professionals who are experts at caring for injured children.
